Why has the Ghost II been replaced?
Autowatch has retired the Ghost II and Ghost Pro in favour of the new Ghost III. The Ghost III runs on an all new high speed processor with lower power consumption, works with older CAN based vehicles as well as the latest CAN FD platforms, and adds smart immobilisation so features like remote heating and cooling from your manufacturer’s app keep working. Autowatch will continue supporting existing Ghost II systems, but all new installations are now the Ghost III.

The Ghost II and Ghost III are disarmed with a personal PIN you tap on buttons already on your steering wheel or dash, so there’s nothing for a thief to see, clone or relay. Have a go below, get a button wrong and it resets and stays armed, exactly like the real thing.

The Ghost Classic doesn’t use a PIN. It’s tag operated instead, so there’s nothing to enter, you simply keep the tag with you.

The Ghost III is the new product replacing the Ghost II and Ghost Pro, working on the vehicle’s data network with PIN, tag or smartphone authorisation, and it covers older CAN based vehicles as well as the latest CAN FD platforms. What is a Ghost immobiliser?
The Autowatch Ghost is a discreet immobiliser that keeps your engine locked until you authorise it. The Ghost Classic uses an analogue circuit cut with tag operation, while the Ghost III uses a PIN sequence entered using buttons already in your vehicle.
Can my car still be stolen if a thief has my keys?
No. Even with your key, the engine won’t start until the Ghost is authorised with your tag or PIN. That’s what makes the Ghost so effective against key cloning and relay theft.
Is it visible?
No. It has no visible parts, no flashing lights and no radio signal; it’s installed covertly within the vehicle’s CAN bus system.

Will it work with my car?
The Ghost suits most modern vehicles. Send us your make and model and we’ll confirm compatibility honestly. If it isn’t the right fit, we’ll say so and recommend an alternative.
How long does installation take?
Typical installations take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the vehicle. We test the system, help you set your PIN and make sure you’re confident using it before we leave.
How do I enter service mode?
Service mode temporarily allows the vehicle to be started without your PIN, which is handy when the car goes in for a service, a wash or a garage visit and you'd rather hand over the keys than your code. To turn it on, enter your PIN as normal, then press your service button five times. The service button is stated in the Autowatch booklet given to you at the time of installation. The system drops straight back out of it the next time you disarm and drive normally, so your protection is never left off by mistake.
