Do I need an S5 or an S7?
If your policy documents ask for an S5, you’ll need Automatic Driver Recognition, which only S5 trackers include. Insurers usually ask for S5 on high value or keyless vehicles. Send us your policy requirements and we’ll confirm exactly what you need.
What is Automatic Driver Recognition?
The system recognises small ID tags carried by authorised drivers. If the vehicle moves without a tag present, the monitoring centre is alerted immediately, which helps catch theft the moment it starts.
Are S5 trackers insurance approved?
Yes. Every S5 system we install is Thatcham approved and recognised by insurers. We always recommend confirming the exact category with your insurer before booking.
Which tracker brands do you install?
We supply and fit Meta Trak, Global Telemetrics (SmarTrack) and ScorpionTrack. All three are Thatcham approved, so you can pick the brand and price that suits you.
Do S5 trackers need a subscription?
Yes. The 24/7 monitoring, app access and police liaison all run through the manufacturer’s subscription, which is paid to them directly after installation. Costs start from £14.49 per month or £159 per year for Global Telemetrics, £189.95 for Meta Trak and £13.49 per month for ScorpionTrack, and we’ll confirm the exact figure for the model you choose.
What happens when my tracker is triggered?
The monitoring centre contacts you straight away to check whether the movement is genuine. If it isn’t, they work directly with the police to track and recover your vehicle, often before you’ve even noticed it’s gone.
Can a tracker be transferred to another vehicle?
Often yes, though a reinstallation fee may apply. Contact us with your system details and we’ll let you know where you stand.
How long does installation take?
Installation usually takes around 1 to 2 hours, depending on the vehicle and tracker. We test everything with you before we go.
